|When schools started responding to covid we reached out to the food service department at New Haven Public Schools to see how we could help.
One of their biggest challenges was safely creating meal kits that they could be sending home for students and their families, and minimizing the risk that the food service team members face while preparing the meal kits.
Our baking director Peter and the Chabaso operations team got to work to flow-wrap individual buns and rolls.
We’re now producing over 3,000 hamburger buns per week for New Haven Public Schools meal kits. We’re working to scale up the capacity but we’re happy to be helping our neighbors at New Haven Public Schools stay safe.
