Sanitation Worker

Position Objective

Perform repetitive and routine duties to maintain a clean and orderly facility.

Responsibilities

· Review and follow daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly schedule for cleaning.’

· Be able to prioritize tasks as assigned.

· Clean and supply office areas, cafeteria and restrooms following standard procedures.

· Gather and empty trash. Maintain outdoor waste areas and large bins (scrap).

· Be able to stock and supply necessary cleaning tools as requested

· Clean facility floors by sweeping, mopping, scrapping, and scrubbing.

· Clean production areas as directed. Clean bread boards, buckets, spiral, metal detectors, machine hoppers, etc. following specified cleaning procedures.

· Use chemical cleaners as specified.

· Prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

· Notify manager concerning the need for repairs or any unusual circumstances.

· Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

· Follow safety rules and regulations.

· May be, responsible for basic training of new peers

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Competencies:

· Able to follow cleaning schedules and complete tasks accordingly

· Able to work in a team environment and take direction from multiple departments and sources.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of basic sanitation principles. Up to 3 months of on the job training.

Language Skills :

Able to read, comprehend, and convey information in Basic English. (Spanish) Bilingual preferred

Reports to Sanitation Lead and Quality Assurance Director

Physical and Visual Requirements: Position performs general physical activities that require:

· Significant time standing and moving about production areas.

· Considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, repetitive reaching and stooping, continuously moving light weight material (5 - 25 lbs.) in difficult positions and frequently moving/pushing heavy (over 60 lbs.) weight moving about production areas.

· Handling and Moving Objects — Use of hands and arms in coordination to handle, position, and move materials, and manipulate things. Manual dexterity and fingering is required.

· Near to medium distance vision—see objects at close range to about 100 feet away.
