Donation Request

Chabaso is proud to provide in-kind bread donations to support events in our home state of Connecticut that focus on one of our three areas of focus – underprivileged children, bridging divides, and urban farming.

We get a large number of requests throughout the year and although we would love to, we can’t possibly accommodate every event. We’re also happy to consider bringing a Bread Breakers conversation station to your event.

All donations must be picked up at our bakery (360 James St, New Haven, CT) on the day of the event. Our bakery is open daily at 5:30am for pickups.

Participation requirements

  • Event focuses on one of our three areas of focus – underprivileged children, bridging divides, or urban farming
  • Be a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
  • Provide more than 6 weeks notice prior to the event date, but not more than 6 months
  • Have not received a product donation from Chabaso in the last 6 months

Organizations and events that don’t qualify

  • Organizations that are not classified as IRS 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entities
  • Events outside Connecticut

Bread Breakers is a conversation project from Chabaso that facilitates conversations around divisive topics and archives them in the Library of Congress. A Bread Breakers station consists of a table with a microphone and is run by a Chabaso representative.
